APPLICATION STORY
HVAC Pressure Range
A configurable pressure-transducer platform replaced several legacy variants used across commercial heating and water equipment.

Overview
A commercial heating and water-equipment manufacturer wanted to rationalise several pressure-transducer variants used across different product assemblies.
The challenge
The existing range included multiple pressure spans, voltage and current outputs, and an unnecessarily specified hazardous-area device used within a safe-area installation.
- Cover positive-pressure and vacuum measurement duties.
- Support both voltage and 4-20 mA outputs.
- Reduce the number of unique sensor bodies.
- Avoid paying for approvals not required by the application.
Our solution
Quality Lab Solutions reviewed the legacy specifications and proposed a common transducer platform configured through pressure range, electrical output and process connection.
- Consolidated several duties onto one mechanical design.
- Provided separate voltage and current-output configurations.
- Removed the unnecessary hazardous-area requirement.
- Supplied samples with three-point calibration records.
Results
The approved configuration reduced five legacy purchasing codes to two standard variants. The change lowered pressure-sensor inventory by approximately 22%, shortened internal approval work for new builds and established an annual supply plan covering around 2,000 units.
Customer benefits
The customer simplified purchasing and production while retaining the pressure ranges and outputs required across its equipment portfolio.
- Fewer stocked sensor variants.
- Reduced risk of incorrect part selection.
- No unnecessary hazardous-area overspecification.
- Consistent calibration and replacement procedures.
