Pressure transducers and transmitters, specified by engineers

From millibar-level duties to 5,000 bar, across gauge, absolute and sealed-gauge references — every product above carries its datasheet on the page. If you know your spec, filter and go. If you don't, that is what we are for.

Transducer, transmitter — or something else?

The words get used loosely. Broadly: a transducer gives a simple voltage or millivolt signal suited to OEM builds and test systems; a transmitter conditions that signal into 4-20 mA or a digital protocol for control loops and long cable runs. Our guides explain the distinction and the reference question — gauge, absolute or sealed — in full.

Duties we cover

Every product above carries its datasheet — these are the jobs the range is built for.

Hydraulic and fluid powerHydraulic-grade transmitters built for pressure spikes, vibration and ten-million-cycle life.
OEM and machine buildersCompact and manifold-mount transducers, voltage or current outputs, G1/8 and G1/4 threads, batch quantities.
Compressed air and pneumaticsAir-duty transducers for compressor and pneumatic control.
Differential pressureWet/wet DP transmitters for filters, flow elements and low-range duties.
Combined pressure and temperatureTwo measurements from one process connection.
High temperature and harsh processHigh-temperature transmitters and full-vacuum-rated ranges.
HygienicFlush-diaphragm transmitters for food, beverage and pharmaceutical cleaning regimes.
Hazardous areaATEX-rated instruments for Zone-classified plant.

How to choose a pressure transducer — the eight questions we ask

Answer any of these, or none — unknowns are our job.

  1. What is the process media — liquid, gas, viscous, aggressive, oxygen service?
  2. What is the working pressure range, and the worst-case spike rather than the nominal? We size the span with overpressure headroom.
  3. Which reference do you need — gauge, absolute or sealed?
  4. What accuracy class does the application genuinely need?
  5. Which output — voltage for OEM boards, 4-20 mA for control loops, digital where the plant asks for it?
  6. What process connection does the plant offer?
  7. What electrical connection — plug, cable or connector standard?
  8. And what environment must it survive: temperature extremes, washdown, vibration, hazardous-area classification?

OEM supply, call-off orders and next-day delivery

Machine builders run on schedules, not stock rooms.

We hold agreed buffer stock against blanket orders so you can call off transducers in the quantities your line needs, with next-day delivery on call-off orders, UK and EU shipping, and samples for development builds. First orders are proforma, moving to 30-day terms for regular customers. One working day to a quotation, ISO 9001:2015 certified throughout.

Common questions about pressure measurement

Quick answers from our engineering team.

Which pressure device do I need — transducer or transmitter?

Transducers give a simple voltage or millivolt signal for OEM builds and test systems; transmitters condition the signal to 4–20 mA or digital protocols for control loops and long cable runs. If you are unsure, send the application and we will shortlist.

What pressure ranges does the catalogue cover?

From millibar-level duties to 5,000 bar, across gauge, absolute and sealed-gauge references. Filter by range, or send your working pressure and we will size the span with overpressure headroom.

Do you have hygienic and hazardous-area options?

Yes — hygienic transmitters with flush process connections for food, beverage and pharmaceutical duties, and ATEX-rated instruments for hazardous areas. Use the approvals and connection filters to narrow the range.

Coriolis and electromagnetic flow meters, specified by engineers

Bent-tube Coriolis sizes span 360 kg/h at DN3 up to 480,000 kg/h at DN150, reading mass flow, density and temperature from one meter; the electromagnetic range covers 0.05 to 50,700 m³/h for conductive liquids. Every product above carries its datasheet on the page — filter and go, or send us the duty.

Duties we cover

Every product above carries its datasheet — these are the jobs the range is built for.

Dosing and low flowBent-tube Coriolis meters from DN3 for chemical dosing, injection and batching.
High-capacity mass flowDN150 Coriolis meters to 480,000 kg/h, reading mass flow, density and temperature together.
Conductive liquids and waterElectromagnetic meters with an unobstructed bore and no moving parts, DN6 to DN1600, for water, wastewater and slurries.
Corrosive and aggressive mediaLiner and electrode choices — PTFE, PFA, Hastelloy, tantalum — matched to the medium at quotation.

How to choose a flow meter — the eight questions we ask

Answer any of these, or none — unknowns are our job.

  1. Mass or volume — Coriolis reads mass directly, electromagnetic reads volumetric flow of conductive liquids.
  2. What is the medium, and is it electrically conductive?
  3. What is your real flow range — meters are sized to flow, not pipe bore; as a guide, DN6 covers around 1,200 kg/h, DN25 around 12,000 kg/h, DN80 around 180,000 kg/h.
  4. Is that normal flow or maximum — accuracy is best with normal flow in the upper part of the sizing band.
  5. What pressure drop can the process allow at maximum flow?
  6. What are the line details — pipe size, connection, pressure and temperature rating?
  7. What output do you need — 4-20 mA, HART or Modbus RTU/RS485?
  8. And what accuracy class — our QMASS Coriolis range is functional-safety assessed to IEC 61508, SIL 2 capable in 1oo1 and SIL 3 in 1oo2.

UK supply, call-off orders and next-day delivery

Machine builders and process plants run on schedules, not stock rooms.

Coriolis vs electromagnetic guideApplication stories

Common questions about flow measurement

Quick answers from our engineering team.

Coriolis or electromagnetic — which flow meter should I choose?

Coriolis meters measure mass flow of almost any fluid and also read density and temperature; electromagnetic meters measure volumetric flow of conductive liquids economically at larger line sizes. Send the media and duty and we will recommend.

What flow rates can you measure?

QMASS Coriolis sizes cover duties from 360 kg/h (DN3) up to 480,000 kg/h (DN150), and the QMAG electromagnetic range spans 0.05 to 50,700 m³/h.

What outputs do the flow meters support?

4–20 mA, HART and Modbus RTU / RS485 across the range — suitable for analogue control loops and digital plant networks alike.

Level switches and level measurement, specified by engineers

Point-level measurement answers one question reliably: has the liquid reached this level? Every float switch above carries its datasheet on the page — filter and go, or send us the duty.

Point level or continuous measurement?

A float switch gives a hard contact at a fixed set point — no calibration, no power-dependent electronics at the sensing point — for high and low alarms and pump start/stop control. If your application needs a continuous reading instead of a switch point, that is a different technology; our guide explains the distinction in full.

How to specify a level switch — the questions we ask

Answer any of these, or none — unknowns are our job.

  1. What is the liquid, and its specific gravity — the float must be buoyant in it (SG 0.85 or above for our HFS 1150)?
  2. Is it clean, coating or crystallising — coating media point away from floats, and we will say so honestly.
  3. What is the vessel — height, mounting position, top or side entry?
  4. What is the switching duty — high alarm, low alarm, or pump start/stop — and which fail-safe direction, NO or NC?
  5. What electrical load is being switched, direct or into a controller?
  6. What wetted materials does the process need, including potable-water compliance where relevant?
  7. And what temperature and pressure will the switch see?

Beyond point level

If your application needs a continuous level reading — tank contents, inventory, control loops — rather than a switch point, send us the application anyway: media, vessel and range. Quote-first means the enquiry, not the catalogue page, is the starting point.

OEM supply, call-off orders and next-day delivery

We specify and supply from Manchester with UK and EU shipping.

Engineer-reviewed quotations within one working day, and agreed call-off orders with next-day delivery for repeat quantities. Every quotation is datasheet-backed and ISO 9001:2015 certified throughout.

Float switch selection guideApplication stories

Common questions about level measurement

Quick answers from our engineering team.

What level measurement do you supply?

Our level range centres on magnetic float switches for point-level detection — dependable high and low alarms and pump start/stop control.

When is a float switch the right choice?

When you need a simple, reliable switch at a fixed level rather than continuous measurement — the reed output wires directly into alarms and control circuits.

What if my level application needs more than the catalogue?

Send us the application — if a catalogue unit does not fit, we will specify and quote a suitable instrument through the same enquiry route.
