Overview

A UK pump manufacturer's product development needed pressure and temperature feedback in a restricted assembly space. Quality Lab Solutions engineered a combined sensor to replace two separate devices — customised to be plug-and-play with the customer's existing electronics.

The challenge

The existing design used separate pressure and temperature sensors, costing board space, process connections and assembly time. A combined device only helps if it drops in without redesign.

• Measure pressure and temperature from one process point.
• Match the existing NTC temperature resistance curve.
• Use the same connector style and electrical outputs as the current parts.
• Fit the available pump housing space.

Our solution

We proposed a compact combined pressure-and-temperature sensor and customised a sample to the customer's specification — matched NTC curve, same connectors, same outputs — supplied free of charge for the customer's own R&D testing.

Results

A two-sensors-into-one design handed to the customer's R&D as a plug-and-play sample, with series supply quoted — the engineering done on our side so the customer's testing is the only step between sample and production.
